Wood Navajo Kachina Dancer Dolls
These Navajo handmade Kachinas are created in the style
of the ones the Native American Indians made as their
first tourist-type souvenirs. Each one is signed by it's
master creator. These Kachinas are completely handcrafted
out of wood and their accents are burned into the wood.
The come in two sizes. Small ones are 4.5 inches high.
Large ones are 8.5 inches high.

a Buffalo dancer, an Apache Crown dancer, a Squash dancer,
a Lizard, a White Ogre, and a Navajo kachina. They were
made the old fashioned way, hand carved out of genuine soft
wood and masterfully hand painted with vibrant traditional
designs. They are dressed with genuine buckskin leather,
feathers, horse hair, and fur. These brilliant kachinas
average about 14" tall, they can be as short as 11",
and as tall as 16" including the wood base and feathers.
They have been signed by the Navajo artists including census
number.

Indian Long Hair Indian Shalako Kachina Doll Navajo Made Artist
Signed.
From the heart of the Navajo Nation, this is Native American Kachina
art at its finest. This impressive Shalako Kachina Doll was made
by Bertha Lopez and Eloise Jones, master Navajo Kachina carvers
from Ganado, AZ. This Kachina Doll was made the traditional old
fashioned way. It was masterfully hand carved out of genuine cottonwood
root. The Navajo artists used the natural shape of the root to
help form the body on this one. This Kachina Doll was painted
by hand with bright and vibrant colors to help bring life to the
traditional designs. Plus, this Kachina Doll has been hand etched
with the perfect amount of detail giving it a sense of rich texture.
This Shalako Kachina Doll is 17" tall (including the wooden
base), and about 2-1/4" wide. Signed by the Native American
artist including census number and labeled Long Hair.
The Hopi Shalako towers seven or eight feet in the air, a long,
shoulder-less figure that bows and dips as he moves in a most
graceful manner. The Hopi Shalako ceremony is held infrequently.
The basic intent is probably that of bringing the cloud supernaturals
to the Hopi mesa and causing them to remain in the general vicinity
of the villages and fields of the tribal lands. We understand
the true value and nature of hand crafted Indian art. And, we
recognize it's important to know that the artist is truly a member
of a Native American tribe. So, to ensure you that this is the
real deal, a Certificate of Authenticity has been included with
this item.
